Terms and Conditions
CLASS ATTIRE
- It is understood that in order to fully benefit from the dance discipline, students are required to attend the dance class in suitable attire. Hair is to be neat and clipped back off the face. No jewellery is to be worn during class. We understand that this can sometimes become difficult with our very little dancers but we do ask parents to please do their very best in this regard.
- Ballet: (Grade 1 and up): Leotard, tights/socks, ballet pumps with hair in ballet bun. NO SKIRT FROM SCHOOL GRADE 2+.
- Modern: Athleisure leggings/shorts, crop tops or suitable tops, leotards, hot pants, unitards, leotards.

FEES, NOTICE PERIOD & MISSED CLASSES
- Fees are payable strictly within the 2 weeks of receiving your invoice. Fees are to be paid by EFT or cash. Cash payments are to be sealed in an envelope with the student’s name, surname and for what the payment is intended written clearly on the front eg: Michelle Smith Fees Term 1, or Michelle Smith exam entry fee etc.
- No reimbursements or carrying over of fees will be made if a child should decide to stop dancing during the term. Once communication is made that a child is enrolling for a class the fees for this class are due to the school.
- Should you wish to discontinue attending dance classes at Jenna de Beer Academy of Dance you are required to give notice at the conclusion of the current term eg: if termination of classes is to commence in the 4th term, notification is to be given by the conclusion of the 3rd term. Failure to give notice will require payment for classes that were enrolled for in the previous term.
- No reimbursement will be given for missed classes regardless of the reason for the student being unable to attend class.
- Please contact Jenna de Beer Academy of Dance if your child will be missing class or will be going away on holiday.
- Public Holidays fall on different days throughout the year and are still part of payment for the term even though the studio does not run classes on public holidays. No discounts or refunds apply if a student goes away on holiday.
- Should any teacher be unable to teach a class on a particular day it is the duty of the teacher to find a substitute or, in such case that the class is cancelled, make up the class on an alternate day.
EXAMS, COMPETITIONS AND EXTRA REHEARSALS
- It is understood that, where applicable, children must attend both classes available to them in order to participate in exams, competitions and any other events.
- Examination and competition entries will be agreed to by teacher, student and parent or guardian. Jenna de Beer Academy of Dance wishes to nurture and encourage students in a positive environment with aims to incite impressive but healthy competition in a supportive atmosphere.
- Should the students and the parent or guardian decide, with the guidance and recommendation from the teacher, that extra classes leading up to an exam, competition or performance are needed, it is understood that said classes are charged per class at the discretion of the teacher.
- It is understood that examination and competition entry fees are over and above termly fees and are to be paid by the deadline specified by the teacher. It is also understood that all extra costs that come from participating in examinations, competitions as well as shows (including costumes, music, entries, extra classes, choreography) are to be paid on or before the set deadline given by the academy.
- Costumes that are used for Jenna de Beer Academy of Dance are subject to automatic hire/buy back by the studio i.e should the school require a costume that has been previously used for a piece that was created by the school you are required to offer it on a hire or buy back basis.
STUDIO POLICIES AND ETIQUETTE
- We regret no parents, guardians or any other spectators in the studio from the very beginning of term. Open week will be held, at the discretion of the teacher, at the end of every term or second term and we encourage all to come sit in and be our audience.
- By enrolling you accept that any photographs or video footage taken during performances or class may be used for publicity and advertising.
- Please wait patiently until the teacher opens the door- do not knock or bang on the door. We pride ourselves on punctuality and the door will be opened in time for your class.
